Background story
Miss Devil's Gloves came from me seeing something similar shown around in a club a few years back. As I was still rather shy then, I did not ask where those gloves could be purchased but decided to try and find out myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't find them anywhere so forgot about them for a while.
As time passed, the idea of the spikey gloves kept coming back, until eventually, one day, I was chatting to a friend when the topic of gloves came up, and whether it would be possible to make them. My friend directed me to leathercraft sites selling punk studs and rivets, and that's when the fabulous journey of discovery truly began.
The Prototype
Once I realised where to get the spikes for the gloves, I began to experiment. For the prototype, I used a pair of cycling gloves that were gathering dust. It was good but not great, as the claws were too heavy to stay on properly.
Short spikes
Then I managed to get my hands on shorter spikes, that seemed to work much better and stay upright well.
Longer spikes?
Testing different lengths of spikes. The gloves are beginning to "get out and about", with myself and my partner, The Beast (later to be known as "The Gloves Man").
Golf gloves are the answer!
The cycling gloves finally got ditched as too thick and clunky, and the golf gloves got discovered. Still working on the pattern that works best, in the most sensual way.
Can we get different colours?
Gloves are getting more and more famous within my social circle, with people asking where they could buy them and whether other colours are available.
Meccano!
Still not happy with the stability of the claws on the gloves, I sought advice from my partner, Mr Beast, and he suggested putting metalwork in the gloves, in the form of Meccano. That finally kept the claws from moving while stroking the person's body.
And the winner is!
Finally, after a few months of trying different varieties, the final style has emerged. And has been the source of amazing pleasure to loads of people, even making their way abroad!
